National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC)

· Do you need a system to manage your employee information?
· Do you want to access TSI funding to support NVQs and accredited training? · Would you find it useful to access workforce data for the region and the country?

Why should you complete the NMDS and keep it updated?
Through the Care Alliance for Workforce Development (CAWD) we are trying to encourage care providers to complete the NMDS and to keep it updated. It provides valuable information on the care sector which is used to make the case for more funding for training.
But what is in it for you?
What is the essence of running a successful organisation?
Know your own organisation
Understand the market
Know what your competitors are doing
Once you have completed the NMDS you can pull off a 'my establishment report'. This gives you a report on your own organisation and compares it to a comparator group - organisations like yours in your area. It will give you:
Demographics of your workforce compared to comparators - it might
indicate that you need to recruit more young people
Pay Rates
Staffing structure
Hours worked, training and qualifications
And more....
How will this help you?
You can print off guidance on how to use the 'my establishment report'.
It will help in all aspects of workforce planning. It may even give you market intelligence which can help your negotiations with commissioners. It will also provide you with a training record for your staff - which is a requirement of the CQC Essential Standards. Once you have completed the NMDS you can apply for TSI funding for training.
The NMDS is an effective tool to help your business. To complete or update your NMDS and pull off your 'my establishment report' go to: www.nmds-sc-online.org.uk/
