New - WDU Training Request Process

The NYCC Workforce Development Unit (WDU) has recently introduced a new training request process in an effort to ensure that training course requests are dealt with more efficiently and effectively.

With effect from the 1st December all courses must be booked online via the NYCC Learning Zone by the individual wanting to attend using their own username and password.

To request a Username, Managers & Staff will be required to complete the

Learning Zone Access Request Form and return it to: workforcedevelopment@northyorks.gov.uk

WDU will then forward to you confirmation of your new Username which will allow you to then set up a new Learning Zone account. Please see the Creating a Learning Zone Account’ guide.

If you have already received a Learning Zone Username from WDU, you do not need to complete the Username Request Form, though you will be required to set up a new Learning Zone Account. Please see the above ‘Creating a Learning Zone Account’ guide.

If you or your staff do not own an email account, you will need to create one. For guidance on how to do this, please see the attached ‘Creating a Personal Email Account’ guide. Please note that a generic email account may be used, though staff Joining Instructions will be sent direct to this account.

Please note that when searching for a course on the Learning Zone you should only look at courses that begin with ‘HAS’.

N.B. To make a training request for either Safeguarding Level 3 or 4, Safeguarding Champions or a Medication course, you will still be required to submit a training request form via post or email.
