Skills for Care

Training Strategy Implementation (TSI)

·        All Health and Social Care NVQs

·        Leadership and Management NVQs

·        Completed Common Induction Standards (including Learning Disability Induction Award)

·        Manager Induction Standards

·        Assessor, Verifier and Mentorship units

·        Accredited First Aid, Moving and Handling, Food Hygiene and ESOL for work qualifications

·        Co-funding – TSI can be used alongside other funds.

 

NB. No eligibility criteria applies for social care employers.  However, the number of units is limited by the funding available

 Up to £80 per NVQ unit / Induction unit

Before accessing this funding you must have updated your National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC) since April 1st 2010, and have completed 90% of your worker records.  You must also join a TSI partnership.

Train to Gain Enhancement Fund

 

 

This will support other types of training not covered by Train to Gain such as:

·        Dementia

·        Appraisal

·        Management of challenging behaviour

·        Medication

 

Employers can make a Single Business Application up to £33,000 (supported by training provider of your choice).  This fund supports 60% of the cost of accredited training – you would have to meet the other 40% of the training cost (TSI funding could support this – see below).

 Care Sector Skills from Higher York

(the partnership of four Higher Education Institutions in York and North Yorkshire)

   

·        Accredited, non-accredited and bespoke Level 4 and Level 5 training.

 

Subsidies are available to independent sector / third sector organisations through ECIF funding (Economic Contribution Investment Fund). The contribution is 60% of the cost, with a 40% contribution to be made from the employer.

Get Connected

(Social Care Institute of Excellence)

This is a capital fund to enable registered providers of social care in the independent sector to access digital technology more effectively.  

 

Amongst other uses, you could use this funding to:

 

·        Purchase 

      computers

 

to enable your staff to

access e-learning

provided by the

CAWD E-learning Project

 

This fund will provide grants up to the value of £20,000.
